1. This morning I came across this article about a girl who was locked up on her room for 25 years. By her own mother. When they found her, well... go read the article. How could she be spared from this if time travel were available? If we went back and released her from captivity that would only generate another world line where she would live her life with her love. I don't think that bringing her back would be of any help either, since she wasn't herself anymore after all those years. What do you think? Could time travel be used to fix this types of mistakes?
2. If you can translate this document, let us know.
3. @PaulaJedi This is what I'm talking about. I KNEW IT! Time travelers will use their machines to go to concerts. Although this one mentioned Justin Bieber...
4. Haha we call this movie a very different name here in Brazil! lol, I would die and not know that this movie was called Total Recall... In Brazil, this movie is called "The Avenger from the Future"
5. What exactly is different from what you recalled? Maybe you're checking the original posts in a "unauthorized" page? Share the link with us, let's see if I catch something different ;) Febreze is crazy! I wish we had it in Brazil though.
6. No, not really. Picture this: you live in the future. Society has easy access to time travel and it's a very well controlled matter, since time traveling isn't what we imagine it could be today(2016). We were waaay off on the mechanisms of it. It's much simpler and doesn't really require all that much effort. At least for the future technology anyway. So, future society (let's say 2136) still has capitalism. So, of course, people will think of a way to capitalize over time traveling. Do you know today's travel agencies? Well, the time travel agencies work the same way, but they sell tickets for you to go back to see historic events, participate even. It offers the most varied time travel packages, like music - where you can go see your favorite bands playing live, great war battles - where you go back and understand how the battle of the bulge took place, great historic events - where you can see live things like All this can be acomplished because: a) They have mapped out these events througly. They will send you to "replace" someone that they already know won't be missed in each event. For example, that backstage guy. They already have a team of people that go back a bit before you and persuade the person to do something else, so you can take their place for just one song. b) They can monitor you so you won't run away or try to alter history. You're basically sent back somehow as soon as you try to disrupt the timeline. c) You're sent back as soon as the event is over. That's it. Lol, is this too trippy?
7. Exactly this one! Well Paula, since I never had the chance to see Freddie alive, I was thinking that maybe just like I use youtube to experience live shows of great artist, well, time travelers might go back in time to this concert whenever they feel like listening to a legend play live. I'm sure someone in the future has already come up with some sort of Tourism Time Travel Agency, selling tickets to go back and replace that hands Mr. Mercury the microphone and can just watch the show from the stage. .
8. Hello Vman! Lucky for you, this has been discussed here before. Check this out: Any ideas on who wrote this? If you said "The most beloved time traveler around, the one and only: Titor, John Titor" you got it right! Here's the post where @pamela transcripts his first faxes to Art Bell What about the next one? I doubt you find out who wrote this: Here's the link for you to check with your own eyes.
9. Guys, I had no idea such a thing existed. How cool is that? This really sound like something from the future but that actually "exists" today. Pretty fun stuff to read and know about. I wonder if this could/will be used by time travelers to help with their trips?
10. Maybe they are on to me? Just type "Queen Live" then... The original link is Freddie Mercury playing "Somebody to Love" with Queen...
11. Oh... that explains it. Try It's easier to find a time traveler in this one.
12. What do you mean by this? South Korea doesn't border Russia, nor it is close to Vietnam.
13. Here, might have found the first one. This person that gives the microfone to him is the hottest "place" for a time traveler to be. and at the end, . I'm pretty sure that the first time I saw this video the guy getting the microphone back was black.
14. Good morning everybody, I was watching on youtube the other day, and it clicked: This is the perfect video for us to look for time travelers! I'm pretty sure this is a very popular place for tourism among time travelers from the future. How could I have not thought this before? I would so hop into a time machine to see this guy play live... Anyway, good luck looking for time travelers on the video, I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of them dow there. Let us know if you found any!
15. Hello! Have you guys ever heard of this place called "Bosque Energetico" in Miramar, a city in Argentina? Weird things happen there (allegedly). This place reminded me of the Mystery Spot and the Oregon Vortex places that were discussed here througly a while ago, although it isn't as cool as the former two. I couldn't read this and not think of @Einstein, our colleague that defends that such places do represent anomalies in our gravitational field, or something like that lol (sorry Einstein). I personally think that this example is a bit far fetched, specially the way it's written. It's a fun read nonetheless. Anyway, I'll just translate the whole thing and you can split your screen (windows key + left arrow/windows key + right arrow) to read it while checking out the images. I do warn you that I don't speak spanish that well and I've tried to translate it at the best of my habilities. Well, here it is: Five kilometers from Miramar, through the route that leads to Mar dek Sur, within the Vivero Municipal, there is a small pine forest named "dark woods" or "energetic woods". This is a very particular place, nobody has a real explanation for what goes on in these energetic woods. The truth is that twigs can keep themselves in the vertical perfectly balanced, without falling. Also, on the small branches coming out from the trees, you can put twigs there and they will act like magnets. Nobody has been able to determine why these trees are magnetised. The truth is that twigs will remain "glued" to the trees, as one can observe in the picture. In this place, reigns only silence, darkness, wild odors and moisture. Trees grow sideways, totally bent. They cross over each other in a way that when you look up you see the branches forming a closed roof that prevents the passage of sunlight. On the opposite side, on the ground, they form a perfect circle. In order to prove the magnetism in the woods, you simply grab a piece of twig from the ground, nail it down to the ground vertically and lean another stick horizontally on top of it, in a way that they form a "T". You can then prove that the stick will keep itself balanced and doesn't fall. You can do this with different sized sticks and every time the magnetism will happen. Why this happen is still a mistery, without scientific explanation. What is known is that this is a unique forest reserve in all of the Atlantic coast. The most skeptics say that when you start a pine plantation, you should keep them short, cutting them. In this case, the proper pruning wasn't done and because of this, the trees grew together very high and in their search for sunlight, have entangled themselves to one another. By doing that, they block the wind to enter the lower part of the forest and for that reason, there's the illusion of magnetism when twigs just won't fall from where you put them. The only truth is that these woods exist, the branches and twigs are real and you can test their balance yourself. It's said that around the year 1989, a group of scientists arrived at Miramar. They had the mission to investigate certain changes in the electromagnetic fields that, according to satellites, originated in a specific point inside these woods. The place the scientists elected to perform their measurements is a hill, not higher than 100 meters, that locals have known for years as "Dark Woods". This place had trees so deeply entangled that no sun light is able to penetrate through the trees, reaching the ground only at sundown. After the scientist arrived, all sorts of myths and fables started around the small hill. You can believe in everything it's said about this place or not. Truth is, people arrive every weekend of the year in great quantities with the mais objective to stay a little under the shade of the energetic hill. Even though the place has deteriorated a bit with all the traffic of people throughout the years, it still keeps its magic and its strange atmosphere, where not only the eternal shade but also the fact that it gets strangely quiet the more in walk in the woods. This is all I could translate for today and also it's where all the fun information is at. My conclusion about this place: It's a forest. That is dark.
16. Haha why did you mention it? It was all physics and quantum mechanics until you brought it up... Well, at least today I found a new meaning for the word "microsingularity".
17. You got it, these things do improve with time. What are you talking about a sound proof studio? I thought both episodes sounded just fine. Also, the “Outta time” fits perfectly at the end of the episode as a charming catch phrase! Congrats and can’t wait for the next episodes.
18. Wow PaulaJedi I fell in love with your voice! I can listen to this all day, can’t wait for more!
19. This is a plausible explanation for where all my hair went. I'm as bald as this emoji :| How I miss my soft hair...
20. Howdy! I just wanted to share this awesome strategy game I discovered. It's called "Summoners War" and it's very addictive. Anyone else playing something fun?
21. Hey! It's always good when a lurker "comes out of the closet" lol Welcome to the Institute!
22. This post reminded me of the restaurant at the end of the universe, mentioned on the Douglas Adams's novels The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Paula, I think the the armageddon by nuclear blast goes side by side with time travel because it's a technology we know can destroy our planet. So, it's very convidative for time travelers to use their time travel machines to come back and try to save Earth.
